We are deeply saddened by the demise of our elder and friend, Dr Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere a renowned Ugandan Politician and loving family man.
We have lost a strong pillar of the struggle for the freedom of Ugandans, a peacemaker, an epitome of unity and a visionary leader who understood economic development would never be possible without respect for Human Rights and Democracy.
We appreciate his contribution to the struggle for the betterment of all citizens.
He was a huge inspiration to and mentored many and remained Truthful and Just throughout his life. His service to humanity beyond his motherland makes it difficult to find a replacement for him.
Although he has left unfinished work we are comforted because we celebrate a life lived in dignity and selflessness. For his entire time on earth, he chose to live a simple life and remained principled. He advocated for the rule of Law through which he intended to better the living conditions of the citizens of Uganda.
Above all, he was a father who mentored, groomed and shaped countrymen and women as useful citizens.
We share this great loss with his family, The Democratic Party, and the entire political fraternity.
He leaves a beautiful legacy and will be greatly missed by the entire country.
As Forum for Democratic Change, we join the entire Nation in expressing our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Family, Your Grace Dr Paul Ssemogerere the Archbishop of Kampala and our sister Party, The Democratic Party at this time of grief.
Eternal rests grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
