THE HOMECOMING OF NATHAN NANDALA MAFABI EVENT.
We wish to thank the people of Mbale and all the towns along where the presidential passed for warm reception.
The homecoming event for Rt. Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi at Mbale Cricket Grounds on August 30, 2025, was a massive success, with the candidate receiving a warm welcome at home.
The event culminated a caravan that begun at the Party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, on August 29, 2025, led by Party President Hon. Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi, who bravely navigated through tear gas in Iganga, Nakalama and Busembatya at the instigation of the regime Police.
In a show of solidarity, several religious leaders, including Rt. Rev. Patrick Gidudu the retired Anglican Bishop of Mbale Diocese and Sheikh Jowali Isiko of the Jinja Muslim District, offered blessings to Rt. Hon. Nandala Mafabi and his wife, Mama Flora Nandala.
The event, which saw over 160 NRM defectors join the FDC, was a testament to the candidate’s growing support. The FDC Party extends its heartfelt appreciation to the people of Mbale and all the places the candidate visited, from Kampala to Mbale, for their overwhelming support.
We also thank our leaders and aspiring candidates for their excellent coordination. Notably, during the journey to Mbale, the FDC Party President and Presidential flag bearer officially opened the FDC Buikwe District branch office in Lugazi Municipality and Iganga District Branch Office in Iganga Municipality. In a special way we take this opportunity to thank the members of the Forth Estate for the coverage amidst all the difficult circumstance throughout the home coming expedition.
PARTY MOBILIZATION AND RECRUITMENT EFFORTS
As we approach the next election, our Party has launched an intensive mobilization and recruitment drive. Our extensive leadership structure across the country has been engaging with various leaders and individuals, encouraging them to join the FDC.
This momentum was evident when three former NRM parliamentary aspirants joined us during our recent national council meeting. Furthermore, over 160 leaders from the Bugisu sub-region and Budaka District joined our ranks during our homecoming event in Mbale on August 30, 2025.
We’re also in serious discussions with several NUP, NRM and other Party’s leaders, members, parliamentary and local government candidates who didn’t succeed in their previous electoral bids particularly in Buganda and Busoga, and western regions. As we speak, our Party leadership is meeting with these individuals to welcome them into our fold.
Meanwhile, our aspiring candidates from the Kampala metropolitan area are meeting today for a preparatory meeting, where they’ll be inducted into the Party’s values and briefed on the nomination process scheduled for this week.
Our goal is to field strong candidates at all levels of representation.
