The 15th National Council meeting at our Party National Headquarters- Najjanankumbi, Kampala, was chaired by our National Chairman Owen. Amb. Wasswa Biriggwa Ssekyondwa.
The Council meeting is one of the second largest organ of the Party which take strategic decisions on critical aspects regarding the direction of the Party. It consists of Party NEC, MPs, elected LC5 District Chairmen, Municipal and City Mayors, Party District branch Chairpersons, Youth and women League National leadership, and elders Council among others.
Our founding Party President Rtd. Col. Dr Kizza Besigye delivered a keynote address to the Council where he made sense of the grand theme of “facing the turbulent future”
Later in the evening, the Council members joined the Ms Nanyonjo Susan the Secretary for ethics, culture and religious affairs in singing the Christmas carols after the Church Service where the main celebrant has been Rev. Mulondo Nathan the head of the education department in Namirembe Diocese.
While closing the meeting the Party National Chairman Owek. Ambassador Wasswa Biriggwa called upon members to be steadfast, build and strengthen the FDC to be the Party of Choice and regime change
In the National Council meeting, the Party President Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat presented the 3rd FDC STRATEGIC PLAN 2022-2027 which was adopted and later launched. This Plan will guide the party for the next 5 years.
The Party Deputy Treasurer General Mr. Kyambadde Wilberforce presented the financial report as well as the Financial budget which was adopted.
The meeting took strategic direction on a number of issues that affect the Party.
