FDC wants Parliament to intervene in refugee management corruption scandal

The opposition Forum For Democratic Change wants Parliament to intervene in the corruption scandals surrounding the management of refugees in the country.

During their weekly press briefing on Monday morning, the FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Semujju Nganda said individuals implicated in the scam should be held accountable.

The scam involving the inflation of refugee numbers by government officials was high on the agenda during the FDC weekly press conference on Monday morning.

The Party Spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda says he is set to table a motion calling on parliament to investigate the scandal.

According to Ssemujju Nganda the alleged mismanagement of refugee funds is a result of many perceiving refugees as commodities.

Ssemujju says supervision of refugee funds has been hampered by the advanced age of officials in the office of the Prime Minister.
