REVIEW OF THE 2021 NATIONAL GENERAL ELECTIONS AND PARTY STRUCTURAL AUDIT
Today the FDC is concluding the country tour dubbed “Review of the 2021 national general elections and party structural audit “.
We held a series of grass root meetings with all the party structures across the country. FDC being as a people centered organization, we apply the bottom-top approach. We listened to several challenges faced by our members during the conduct of the 2021 general elections, the taking into account the situation on ground by the grassroots party leaders and cadres.
A S.W.O.T analysis model has been applied as we collected information/data and we shall compile a full report to be presented to the second largest party organ, the National Council , which is slated to convene on the 24th and 25th of November , 2022.
The National Council will then guide the party’s future course of action.
We thank our all party structures for the enormous support exhibited during these national consultative meetings, notwithstanding the dire situation endured.
FDC’S SAM MUGUMYA SITUATION
Over the weekend received the good news concerning the release of Sam Mugumya one of our loyal party cadre from the DR C prison where he had been held for the past Eight years, after him and other four were charged for being part part of M23 rebels.
The FDC sent former Leader of opposition Hon. Winnie Kiiza to vist him in prison with the primary objective of accessing his situation but all were in futility because she did not talk him.
As a party we thank everyone who has put an effort in securing his release.
But the FDC, stills stands that this was political persecution of Sam Mugumya because previously he had been charges on treasonous charges alongside Hon. Mwijukye and Ingrid Turinawe .
The process of securing his travel documents for his safe return home is ongoing, and when concluded the party will accord him an official welcome.
We continuously condemn the abuse of human rights basing on their political affiliation as opposed to the ruling party and the recent kidnaps of political actors .We commiserate with Hajji Nadduli for the loss of his son Jakana .
